Pop-up sessions by Elderberry Photo

Mothers are often the ones holding it all together, yet somehow we end up being missing from the photos. We're behind the camera, carrying the baby, wiping the faces, packing the snacks and making the memories happen. These pop-up sessions are a chance to step into the frame and be seen in the season that you are living right now.

Motherhood Portraits are simple, child-led sessions with the focus on connection. There is no pressure to smile at the camera, sit still, or pose perfectly. Instead, I will follow your children, embrace chaos (listen, with five kids, I thrive in chaos) and document the way they reach for your hand, tuck themselves into your lap, shake the sillies out or bury their face into your shoulder. The small moments that feel ordinary today often become the ones that we end up missing the most. As a mom to a teenage girl and to younger boys, I see both sides.

My approach is gentle and relaxed. Whether your little one is shy, busy, emotional, nursing, barefoot or covered in dirt, they are welcome exactly as they are. My intention isn't to show you a polished version of your motherhood, I want to document it exactly as it is.

One day your children will look back at these photographs and see where they belonged. They will see the way you looked at them, the way you held them, comforted them and most importantly, loved them.

Most importantly, they will see that you were there too. You were always there.
